Welcome to TeamGoldsby.com. This blog will focus on the topics that captivate me. Entrepreneurship. Creativity. Innovation. Design. Concept development. Problem solving. Simply put:
I’m fascinated by how people come up with new ideas and bring them into the world.
It amazes me that something somebody comes up with in his or her head can be brought into existence and change the world around them. Imagination and vision are the most powerful mechanisms on the planet. I study how people come up with big ideas and how they make them a reality.
If I summed up what my contribution to this area of study and practice is, it’s this:
I help people find clarity on what to do next.
You’ll notice that the symbol I designed for my consulting practice and website is themed on the thought of getting your gears turning on your ideas. Unfortunately, the gears in our head often feel like they’re jammed. We feel stuck, like we’re not going anywhere. And instead of clearing away what’s got us stuck, we push down the gas pedal even harder. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t move us forward. In fact, it often only burns up our engine. That’s where I come in. I help people get unstuck, and I do this by helping them figure out how to look at a challenge in their personal life or business in a new way.
You see, most people don’t know how to do this. You hear it everywhere you go. In the waiting room of doctor’s offices. In the hallways at work. In the boardroom. It seems anywhere people gather they’re stressed out about what they should do next. So, I help people figure out what that next big step is in their life or business. This approach has given me the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, such as:
- Designing new products and services
- Designing new business concepts for startups
- Designing new organizational processes
- Strategizing on new markets and opportunities for existing businesses
- Crafting strategic plans for businesses of all sizes
- Crafting organizational and project visions
- Crafting economic development plans for communities, states, and provinces
- Crafting academic strategies for colleges and universities
- Crafting brands
- Crafting marketing strategies
- Crafting career strategies
- Crafting life strategies
- Facilitating problem solving for personal growth
- Facilitating problem solving for business growth
How can I be involved in such a wide range of projects? It’s because I don’t come into a situation with any preconceived solution to pass along to the client. Instead, I help clients look at their situations in new ways. Once this is accomplished, the solutions come flying forth and clients get excited about getting unstuck. Whether it’s a one on one session or a planning retreat with a wide range of stakeholders, the same result always happens: People come up with the big insights that can move them forward.
It’s a great experience when this happens. My clients’ eyes light up, they throw their hands up in the air in joy, and sometimes they even cry tears of relief. I enjoy being a part of this process and helping people make progress on things that matter to them. It’s fun moving forward in life. And it’s definitely better than feeling stuck.
This website will share stories, insights, and research about how great ideas are developed and problems are overcome. I’ll share with you some of my methodologies, lessons from experts I know, and stories that inspire me. It’s my hope that by sharing these lessons you’ll go on to pursue your own opportunities and realize your dreams.
Okay, so you’re probably wondering why I call this website Team Goldsby. Well, it’s because I believe that all growth and success comes from the guidance and help of others. I have my team of people who play a major role in helping me move forward in life. And I’m not too proud to say that I need a lot of help! I have a physical therapist, massage therapist, psychological therapist, a professional triathlon coach, and professional mentors. My family, friends, and colleagues teach me a lot too. I also hope that I help these people out as much as they help me. They’re not just on my team, I’m on theirs too. I’ll share with you some of the lessons from my team, and I hope by doing this you’ll think about how you can build your own support team too.
Again, welcome to Team Goldsby.
